Larisa Lapteva is a Russian-American visual artist based in Austin, Texas. With a background in fashion, sculpture, and illustration, she brings a multidimensional sensibility to her work. Larisa’s practice spans painting, mixed media, and costume design, often blending tactile materials with elegant visual storytelling.

Originally from Russia, she moved to the U.S. a decade ago and found in art a bridge between her cultural roots and her present life. Her recent work explores themes of identity, transformation, and the quiet power of nature and femininity. Larisa is known for her richly layered surfaces, unexpected textures, and expressive use of color.

In addition to her studio practice, she creates stage costumes for her daughter’s competitive dance performances — a passion that has evolved into a growing custom design business. Larisa is a member of several local art communities and continues to exhibit her work in Texas galleries.
